Welcoming the 32 Cities of the EU Cities Gateway Cohort!

Categorized as News from IURC

Last week, our first onboarding webinar served as the official kick off for the EU Cities Gateway – and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome the 32 cities and regions from the European Union, Canada, and the United States that will be working together over the next three years.

Funded by the European Union and coordinated with the Delegations of the European Union to Canada and the United States, the EU Cities Gateway connects local and regional governments on both sides of the Atlantic to tackle common urban challenges and co-develop innovative and concrete solutions.

During the webinar, we presented the program’s objectives, the upcoming activities, and the engagement levels that will shape our work – the coming months will be marked by the first thematic meetings, masterclasses, initial study visits, and international events — all opportunities to exchange, innovate, and build strong partnerships.

Building on the IURC and Global Covenant of Mayors projects in the United States and Canada, this marks a new level of structured, forward-looking collaboration aimed at exchanging knowledge, testing ideas, and unlocking new opportunities for cities and regions on both sides of the Atlantic.

We look forward to working closely with all participating cities and seeing the impact this community will create together.
